Thedesign of the Consolar store ensures solar input is made available forhot water generation as quickly as possible, and at a usabletemperature. The key to this is the patented stratification system.

In a conventional hot water cylinder warmed water rises to the top ofthe tank mixing with cooler water on the way. This results in the wholetank being heated evenly with only a mild heat gradient from bottom totop. This saves energy but with low solar input the store temperaturewould all be too low to be useful without further heat input. TheConsolar store uses an innovative stratification system to resolve thisproblem. The Conus is ideal for space heating support with gas, oil or wood pellet boilers. It is not suitable for use with uncontrolled heat sources such as log boilers.
